It's been my experience that bikers tend to enjoy riding together while commuting. It's a bit of an unspoken thing. As a BMW rider, I've also noticed Beemer riders have quite an affinity for other Beemers on the road. This can oftentimes make for fantastic and fun commuting.
Well, yesterday evening's commute home from the office was probably my most fun and yet scary ride to date. Roughly 2/3 of my ride home from work was spent lane splitting while following a CHP motor officer riding his R1150RT-P (or was it a 1200?). Suffice it to say this particular cop was CRAZY (in a sick sort of fun way). Following him was an absolute blast, due in no small part to his insistence that everybody move out of his way. Alternating between flashing his lights and quick blasts of his horn, traffic in the carpool and #1 lanes parted ways. I'm not sure how much of what he did was legal, but it was damn fun and made for a most memorable ride home : ) What could have been a dreadful ride in heavy, holiday traffic went by in no time. Hooray for cool cops!
